May Pole: Rhythmic Circularity for Anarchism

by Alias Salem (salim [at] mashriq.org)
an account of the May Day festivities in San Francisco
May Pole
A recollection of gas clouds hanging over the city of Quebec counterbalances one

This is a quaint article but I find it hard to believe that
anyone might not know what an anrachist is? Maybe they
need to get out of the US a little more to Holland for example
where the red and black flags are still to be found, or maybe to
Barcelona where for a brief time they burned money and shot
priests for their freedom, Maybe a trip to Haight St is in order
(The anarchist's book store) !!

a comment on the comment above: were you saying people reading indymedia would know what an anarchist is? or people in general? unfortunately, and because of our corporate/capitalist educational system and media, a lot of people in this country DON'T know what anarchism is. it takes some searching to find out. and yes, of course, everyone should go to Bound Together Books on Haight St. and check out some anarchist texts and other goodies. (shameless plug...)
