On Saturday, August 11th, Mendocino Co. community members rallies and marched in the town of Mendocino as part of their ongoing campaign to protect recovering forestland in Mendocino Co. from the destructive logging practices of the Mendocino Redwood Company (MRC). Speeches and signs from the rally explained the connection between MRC and the Fisher Family, part owners The Gap stores, and questioned the rationale behind MRC's certification as an environmentally responsible and sustainable timber company in light of the destruction currently being visited upon the Albion River.
