Did someone get the message to ODF (Oregon Dept. of Forestry) that the use of violence and terror on peaceful demonstrators is not an acceptable use of police power. It was a totally different scene today than it was a few weeks ago, when peaceful demonstrators, including media personel who were not demonstrating or breaking any "law", were thrown to the ground, subjected to pain compliance by more cops armed to the teeth, than it took to capture a recent run away armed bank robber. Perhaps ODF will also review it's logic of "we must cut down the trees, so the little trees can become old growth". The people of Oregon need a sustainable forest policy and the governor needs to walk his talk and not allow state government to be run by timber interest. If the governor won't even weigh in on the issue, he must agree with the ODF's logic... most people in Oregon don't think he is that stupid... maybe it's just a lack of courage... like so many politicians these days. Not every brave American has to shoot a gun to be a hero. Many stand peacefully and say no to fear and greed, and say yes to creating a sustainable future.
