Viva Judi Bari!

by HAVC (havc [at] havc.org)
This 24-minute preview edition of "Viva Judi Bari!" recounts activist Judi Bari's work with Earth First!, and her courageous struggle for justice after she was carbombed in Oakland on May 24, 1990 - and falsely accused by the FBI and Oakland Police of having carbombed herself.

Judi Bari, who died of breast cancer in 1997, and Darryl Cherney, who was also injured in the carbombing, filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against the FBI and Oakland PD, charging conspiracy to violate their First and Fourth Amendment rights, through false arrest and unlawful search and seizure. After numerous delays and obstructions, the case, now brought by Cherney and Bari's estate, finally goes to trial on Monday, April 8 at the Oakland Federal Building.
