"Sissy" is an anti-gay term and has no place in any peace movement. A cop is a thug of the capitalist class and whatever sexual orientation he or she may be is completely irrelevant. Please do gather all information you can on all these cops as they have done their best with all their horrific brutality to guarantee a large settlement in any lawsuit, as well as give this very small demonstration on the ice cold, wind-swept, confining Golden Gate Bridge far more publicity than it would have otherwise received.

sissy may be a term used at gays by some people, but it isn't exclusive like "fag". Sissy means "girly man" or "cowardly." I think it's obvious they were using it in the "cowardly" context.

I don't understand what the problem is with having 'sissy' cops. It seems to me that of all places where a sissy could join the police it would be Frisco!

I notice you left out definition #2 ... in case you didnt know, let me tell you how a dictionary works. Words are often spelled and pronounced the same way while having completely different meanings based on context, intent of the speaker, etc.

The cop profession is built upon the masculine stereotypes that you are talking about, and so highlighting the difference between an 11-year-old girl and a 6' macho cop in body armor is relevant -- it confronts their assumptions on their terms. But there are another kind of police called the PC Police, who swarm about babbling about semantics while half-heartedly supporting the police and insisting that their opinion counts for more because they most loudly place themselves in an identity category. Like I said -- get over it.

It was very clear from the context of the first post, the intent was not to ridicule (or even in any way refer to) homosexuals or homosexuality. The intent was to ridicule the very, very macho "manly men" of the police forces for asserting, with a straight face, that one of their number was physically assaulted by an 11-year-old girl.

As a heterosexual nerd-boy who was likewise terrorized by these type of bullies from grade school through high school - never hospitalized, but always in fear - and being called "sissy" and "fag" and all the rest of it, I consider the turning of the tables on these "manly men" quite humorous.

the post was an incisive observation of the absurd lengths the pigs are willing to go to in order to maintain the culture of absolute patriotism we're drowning in today. maybe there was a perception of a mistake in terminology, and someone got offended. and maybe there was a retort that this wasn't the intent of the term, and no offense was intended.

Nope, sorry. I was nearly killed because of being read as a "sissy". It's not so much the use of the word as how it's being used to attack the whole idea of being a sissy. But being so thick as to only look at the world through your lens, you wouldn't "get" that.

I moved from California in 1983 to get away from the overcrowding brought on by allowing uncontrolled imigration of people from foreign countries to California. I sympathize with the police for the job they have to do. Please remember that an eleven year old person, whether male or female is just as capable of causing bodily injury to a crowd as an adult can. If the child has not been taught respect by her parents which seems to be the norm in California these days, then the child is equally deserving of the treatment/behavior that was given. Again, Whether the person is an adult or a child, if his/her behavior is or can be perceived as a threat to the general public, then it is necessary to terminate that behavior before the issue escalates. If this means terminate with prejudice, then so be it.

A large group of people on the surface of Earth contributes very little to nothing to the welfare of human race. This group of people has invented no medicine of significant importance in the last several hundred years. Modern medicines have saved hundreds of millions of life in the last hundred years. Medical technology saved far more life than the total number of life lost during all the war combined in last few hundred years.

Same group of people has declared all technological advances as not necessary or of very little importance. This group of people has not invented anything significant for human comfort, enjoyment or to reduce the pain and misery of poorest 1 billion people of the world. Since they do not have the technology they try to downplay the benefit of technology to human kind. But they also want to reap the benefit of technology and other's hard work. They are extremely jealous of other group of people who has achieved much higher standard of living by good work ethic, civic mindedness, and hard and smart work over a long period of time. The Islamic Empire was the first in history to build hospitals across the empire for everyone--not just for the wealthy. I am approaching retirement, and shudder in fear about where we'll get the money for necessary medicine after retirement reduces our incomes. Islamic scholars copied Greek texts (or we would not have had them now), and Islamic philosophers spent lifetimes poring over Greek writings while building on Greek philosophy. Ah, yes! The Islamic philosophers did not invent philosophy, true (by the way WE didn't invent philosophy either), but they did have some original thinkers who made lasting contributions to philosophy upon which European and American philosophers later built. Greek philosophy, medicine, literature, and art influenced Islamic culture--true again. I got news fer ya sport! Both Greek AND Islamic philosophy, medicine, literature, and art influenced our culture, not to mention influences from other cultures like Indian, Chinese, and African (Egyptian).

Unprecedented peace across a vast empire allowed unprecedented trade, and with trade came exchange of ideas and inventions, like the concept of zero from India. How about paper to write books on? That was something the Muslims got from the Chinese and passed on to Europe. Or how about gunpowder without which there would have been no dynamite for mining and road building? Muslims brought that from the East to the West also.

The scientific method was actually applied to medicine first by an Islamic physician! He gave birth to your "modern medicine." This has not been intended an exhaustive list of Islamic contributions to the "modern" world. It's just a smattering. The intriguing thing for me about civilization is how it's so empirical! The issue is a simple one, when the police tell you to stop doing something, you stop. If they tell you to turn around because they're cancelling your protest, turn around. I grew up understanding this and one of my parents was an immigrant. What's the excuse of the little 7 year old girl? If the police violate your protest rights, take them to court on the following day. But you don't scream and yell like a baby and throw a tantrum (as well as your fists.)

The officer who was assaulted was obviously not injured. But he was assaulted. Don't think the liberal elitests who are championing her cause would be making a fuss if it had been the other way around. Oh wait, they already did that with Donovan Jackson in Inglewood.....another future felon who has trouble listening to law enforcement. Again, do what they say. If they're wrong, take them to court tomorrow.

Personally, I laughed my ass off when I saw this story. Typical is what I thought.
