Come Here Uncle Al's Band Down By the Bay-side

by jonah 'always' oppssum
Humor and an Al Gore Speech- Believe..... (housing issue) Rats infested hotels are just fine without bombs but does a good samaritan act extend to relief by war against governance by terror.

In Wake of Attack #1002+ on Babylon in world history, Al by the Bay for your just-war consideration among the family of man.
In Wake of Attack #1002+ on Babylon in world history, Al by the Bay for your just-war consideration among the family of man.

Just war or illegal war?

Inhumanity fights inhumane or do-gooders wait no more?

Oil primary motive or security and human rights not a bad silver lining?

End and Means Continuum? Where are our moral philosophers on UpClose and such. In such a launch, we should want our professors back to guide us in surety or raconteur. Well, OUR professor from F. U. (that’s Fisk University to W) has just that kind of advice for us. Though that’s soon, I’ve got more.

Now is THE DECISION of entering into jihad after jihad in succession. Could we possibly re-goal this into a substantiated just war action for altruistic motives? If I were a US soldier I’d want that and I know I need it at the gas pumps. The US could be still involved in 2050 with 300 million Islamic follower’s decedents seeking honor and blood debit.

Aside from the asked for a vote of new presidential powers for war without congressional approval being a dangerous president to set, our possible future elected president has some answers in considering a just-war argument instead of legal-war argument (perhaps they must be the same as Al conditional purports), that without raconteur could have us invade Iraq due overwhelming human rights abuses and violence toward their own people. We just did that in Yugoslavia. Slavs down; Babylonians (they’re hiding by calling themselves Iraqi) to go.

As refreshing to contemplate a free Iraq without Islamic law amputations in stadiums, acid disfiguring of uppity women, hidden family terror only disclosed to Ali, and theocratic iron-crushing oppression abounding, Iraq does not pose an immediate threat to the US ;" (is that an isoquant line/curve reference on IMC all over the place or what? ref: Economics as Animal House, but wait for the movie.)

Moreover, Babylon is so indigenous too; I can’t get out of my memory that attack-fallout starry-eyed look Saddam had when shooting his long iron like Geronimo on global telecast. Frankly, Saddam as Geronimo or Black Kettle was appealing and impressive. Bullies all of us. He needed a Robert Plant or Nevel Brothers theme song with that scene and maybe some fry bread and humus. I swear I saw him dancing in place while shooting in the air. Was that Sam Donaldson that said the same thing too just after that really thorough US bombing of Iraq a few years back?

Statesman as ever, here’s Brother Al on the Bay 23 September 2002 and his take on our 6 of 7-day countdown to war. Seek link for the whole speech at:

Again, Al Gore. Lets read together in hushed austerity like national broadcasters leading us in Pledge of Alliance ‘attentiveness’ behavior modification in listening to breaking news.

“But is a general doctrine of pre-emption necessary in order to deal with this problem? With respect to weapons of mass destruction, the answer is clearly not. The Clinton Administration launched a massive series of air strikes against Iraq for the state purpose of setting back his capacity to pursue weapons of mass destruction. There was no perceived need for new doctrine or new authorities to do so. The limiting factor was the state of our knowledge concerning the whereabouts of some assets, and a concern for limiting consequences to the civilian populace, which in some instances might well have suffered greatly.
Does Saddam Hussein present an imminent threat, and if he did would the United States be free to act without international permission? If he presents an imminent threat we would be free to act under generally accepted understandings of article 51 of the UN Charter which reserves for member states the right to act in self-defense.

If Saddam Hussein does not present an imminent threat, then is it justifiable for the Administration to be seeking by every means to precipitate a confrontation, to find a cause for war, and to attack? There is a case to be made that further delay only works to Saddam Hussein's advantage, and that the clock should be seen to have been running on the issue of compliance for a decade: therefore not needing to be reset again to the starting point. But to the extent that we have any concern for international support, whether for its political or material value, hurrying the process will be costly. Even those who now agree that Saddam Hussein must go, may divide deeply over the wisdom of presenting the United States as impatient for war.

At the same time, the concept of pre-emption is accessible to other countries. There are plenty of potential imitators: India/Pakistan; China/Taiwan; not to forget Israel/Iraq or Israel/Iran. Russia has already cited it in anticipation of a possible military push into Georgia, on grounds that this state has not done enough to block the operations of Chechen rebels. What this doctrine does is to destroy the goal of a world in which states consider themselves subject to law, particularly in the matter of standards for the use of violence against each other. That concept would be displaced by the notion that there is no law but the discretion of the President of the United States.
I believe that we can effectively defend ourselves abroad and at home without dimming our principles.

Indeed, I believe that our success in defending ourselves depends precisely on not giving up what we stand for.”
-Al Gore, Common Wealth Club, San Francisco, CA. September 23, 2002.

me again
Vile as Iraq is and in great need of a UN force ass-kicking for human rights debauchery whole-sale, raw, uncut, and proudly evangelized to the world by Iraq as a model of governance we should accept and institute for ourselves in those private parleys between presidents, the US should wait for the UN to agree on the ways appropriate to deal with these abuses. –Or perhaps other nations whom govern by terror should be dispatch in succession. UN? Assembly proud? Feel a trashy family picnic in denial last week in NYC at the UN? Naaaahh.

Someone chastise Uncle Sam he’s hit the oil and gambling short on the stock market and cheat the long players with war rumors and he blew up about Cousin Saddam’s terror without term limits- sayn’, “little Kuwait’s co-dependent causa’ battered syndrome or Kuwait wouldn’t have supported their invaders so soon” and “sompns not right with many of the rest of the cousins for covering”, exceptn’ Cousin Saudi who back their cousin Sam. Everybody at the picnic said they was, private abusers (Iraq I mean) an’ stuck to… their…SelVes!!, all hermetic-like. ‘Hide cousin Saddam, stay low, play Geronimo’, yelled a youngn’ without a sense of current history- youngn' just thinkn about his seat all tha time. ‘Kofi should get a belt and use it, damn it.’ I heard that from every elder smackn’ on potatter salad between the fray. Of course Kofi would never do that. Mama Brit (thatid be the people not Toni) said it had to do with ‘lettn’ pigs of war play in the sand’, whatta ya think of that. It sounded kinda like Bible prophesy (don’t let the kids know its really Black Sabbath, though, cause that ain’t approved by the Southern Baptist Convention).

Sorry Al, I gotta have fun. Yuuns shoulda won. Done in by a Jeb too. Yuuns take care. Peace and Possoms in the Hall’r too far north for a’ ear and tail no-freeze zone,
