It is long overdue that Senator Feinstein be retired as she is a disaster. For all you possible progressive candidates: She will be 74 in 2007 when her current term ends. I suspect her open opposition to labor, peace, public power and taxing the rich means she is not running for anything anymore and thus her position will be up for grabs in November 2006.

Death penalty millionaire Democrat Dianne Feinstein is always pro-war, has come out against Prop D, the public power initiative on San Francisco's ballot; against Prop L, the real estate transfer tax small increase which only the very rich would have to pay and which will help provide basic city services which the workingclass need; her current support of the anti-labor Taft-Hartley law to be used against the ILWU; and all previous horrors which those of you working on Medea Benjamin's recent campaign against Feinstein should be able to rattle off better than I.

Feinstein is an excellent example of why everyone must stop voting for the Democrats & Republicans as they are simply the twin parties of capitalism.

I hope by 2006, we will have a serious labor/peace candidate who is not Democrat-Republican, running for Feinstein's US Senate seat. To all you planners: Find someone!
