Alexander Cockburn on the Jewish Israeli Lobby

Alex Cockburn is promoting anti-Semitism when he whines about a "Jewish-Israeli lobby" rather than the capitalist class. He pulled this stunt in regard to Cynthia McKinney, who was defeated by the capitalist class, some of whom happened to be Jewish. Israel is simply a US military base to protect US oil profits in the Middle East. The outright Nazi, Geroge War Bush, and his openly Nazi friends, do not give a damn about Jews; they care only about money, especially oil money. Do not allow yourself to fall into the same trap for you will discredit your politics. What we are witnessing today is the stench of capitalism as it rots away. The fascist, theocratic, racist, anti-labor, anti-women and anti-gay state of Israel is just as despicable as all the rest of the world's fascist governments that the US supports. Cockburn should be ashamed of himself.

The Israeli-Jewish lobby is the term used for the imperialist Israeli groups in the US and around the world. Israel is not a proxy state of the US and this is only said by liberals who do not want to put any responsibility on Jews who support Israeli policies. Israel and the US have similar IMPERIALIST interests in the middle east, and this is why they are collaborating. Israel, like most states, is imperialist, deal with it. A state is not imperialist only when it works with the US ruling class. Saddam is an imperialist, Bush is an imperialist (duh), Sharon is an imperialist, Blair is an imperialist, etc. etc. etc. If you really were fighting for the working class you would recognize ALL imperialist groups, be they Jewish or not.

I've been reading Alexander Cockburn's articles for fifteen years and have never encountered anything anti-Semitic in them. I don't believe he was anti-Semitic in the way he described the Cynthia McKinney issue either.

I think this is his opinion which you might say is open to debate, but to call it anti-Semitic? I think that is unfair and wrongs a person who has been fighting to get the truth out on many issues that don't get heard in the mainstream media.
