Ancient Redwood Trees Need You!!!
Forest Defenders need your help defending Ancient Trees and Water Quality In Freshwater! Today, March 27, Pacific Lumber contracted fallers cut tree named "Ripple", despite being informed that the tree was tied with rope to adjacent trees! Maxxam charges on as landslides and clearcuts consume Humboldt County watersheds!
Corporate profits continue to take precedence over public concern and environmentally sound forest management as Maxxam's Savings and Loan debt eats away at the last few ancient trees left on the steep and unstable freshwater slopes. Dozens of landslides litter the Freshwater watershed and other Pacific Lumber "timberlands" in Humboldt County. P.L's hazardous logging practices and extremely dangerous Tree-sitter extraction process show how the safety and concern of Humboldt County residents and the health of local ecosystems are blatantly disregarded. Texas based Maxxam Corporation CEO, Charles Hurwitz Is paying his debt to the Federal Government with Humbold County's Ancient Trees! Please help to end this tragic waste of local resources and stand economical "boom and bust" mentality
