Monday March 31, 2003 (0040 PST)

ISLAMABAD, March 31 (Online): Pakistan Muslim League (Quaid-e-Azam) leader Senator Mushahid Hussain has said that America was loosing the war with Iraq on all political, diplomatic and moral fronts.

Hussain said this while talking to Online on Sunday.

He said the people of Iraq have bravely defended their country defeating the objectives of their enemies.

Hussain said America was shaken in its war in Iraq and is being isolated from the rest of the world due to its policies.

He said that if America does not change its policies then it would destroy all its interests.

Referring to the American sanctions imposed on the Kahuta Research Laboratories, Mushahid Hussain said these sanctions do not make any sense and were illogical given the fact that India was manufacturing missiles and continuing its research with the America's co-operation.

Hussain went on to say that America was loosing the war in Iraq and now looking for excuses to hide its failure.

He cleared the fact that Iraq was not to be blamed for this war, he said the Zionist Lobby was the mastermind of the war and even if America was able to overthrow Saddam's regime it would result in poor political outcome.

The PML-QA leader said President George W Bush had isolated America from the rest of the world and the people of Iraq consider the Americans and British as aggressors which was the reason for the unity of the people.

Assessing the current situation in Iraq, he said it is very difficult for the Americans to achieve victory in this war.

Muslim world urged to set up TV channel to counter western propaganda

Blasting the propaganda blitz unleashed by the western media against Iraq and their biased reporting in ongoing US-led war against Iraq, the political leadership of the country have urged the Muslim world to boycott western media and establish their own neutral channel to counter the propaganda.

"Western media is all set to defy the democratic and moral norms to show the US-led forces making inroads in the battlefield in Iraq through one side propaganda. Muslim world should encourage establishment of their own neutral TV channel to neutralise the anti Islam propaganda, this was urged by leading political dignitaries from all political divide.

Talking to Online here Sunday, former ISI chief Lt Gen (Retd), Hamid Gul said that media is fourth pillar of the democracy. The western countries have stifled the press freedom by subduing media. One pillar of the western democracy has collapsed. Bush and Blair has tarnished the image of western democracy by flouting the public opinion.

He was of the view that so many channels have been launched in the world. If the Muslim world and Pakistan utilise their money stashed in the foreign counties banks to set up channel, we can counter the false propaganda of western media, he stressed. The people of Europe have lost their confidence on BBC and CNN. A vacuum like situation has been created. The people are looking for new channels now.

Underlining the need for gearing up the efforts to face the media war, he said that the government should set up such institutes where the media leaders impart training. Refresher courses should be arranged there.

Lashing out at the pathetic attitude of state owned electronic media in Pakistan on Iraq crisis he said that it is unfortunate that the Iraqis who are being martyred in US led onslaught on Iraq, our media is dubbing them as killed and injured. " We are neither siding with the live nations nor the Muslim world", he added.

Responding to a question he said that more sanctions will come for Pakistan following the Kahuta Research Laboratories.

Hamid Gul held that Israel has been desperately scared over the failure of US forces in Iraq and it is now fearing threat from Pakistan. There fore Israel is moving US to impose these sanctions, he added.

PML-Q senator Mushahid Hussain Syed stressed that we should present a realistic view point on Iraq issue. It is unfortunate that all Muslim regimes are undemocratic, therefore, the print and electric media is under their control.

He maintained that it is obligatory on all Muslim countries to reject US policies on Iraq crisis and restore press freedom. Pakistani electronic media is giving correct coverage of US-led attack on Iraq, he observed.

President of PML-Z Ejaz ul Haq said that the Muslim world will have to take concrete measures to counter the misleading propaganda being launched by the Western media with reference to Iraq war. No positive move is being seen on media front except the Al-Jazeera and Dubai TV, he noted.

Siddiq-ul-Farooq, information secretary of PML-N, said that PTV should be allowed to play its independent role. Policies should be framed in the national interests rather than becoming intimidated and browbeaten by US threats, he added.

Jihadis demand formation of Muslim UN

Jihadi (holy warrior) organisations including Jamaat-ud-Dawat have urged the Muslim countries to boycott UN and form a Muslim UN in the name of United Muslim Organisation to counter the conspiracies of non-Muslims forces against Muslim world particularly Iraq.

"Jihad has become obligatory on a the Muslim Ummah, therefore, all the Muslim countries should extend practical support to the oppressed Iraqi Muslims in this critical situation when the US-led forces are bent upon exterminating them for the establishment of greater Israel", Hafiz Muhammad Saeed said while addressing a mammoth public meetings held here Sunday at the Arbab Niaz Stadium in Peshawar.

Hafiz Saeed maintained that US and its allies have rendered the UN ineffective by attacking Iraq.

UN now retains no status. Therefore the Muslim countries should part ways from UN and form their own UN in the name of UMO, he stressed. A Muslim countries alliance against the non-Muslim forces is the need of the hour, he remarked.

Criticising the government for adopting an apologetic stance on Iraq war, he urged the government to declare the military training compulsory for all the citizens.

The government should withdraw the facility of air bases to the US forces, scrap all the agreements with it and issue orders for expulsion of US Federal Bureau of Investigation, he demanded.

Cautioning against the US aggressive designs, he said that America was dreaming to capture all the mineral resources of central Asian states. Pakistan was the major impediment on their way to realise their objectives. Now the US has invited destruction for itself by invading Iraq after Afghanistan, he added.

He urged the Muslims to boycott the US and Britain products as every penny spent by them in this regard would go to the invading forces in Iraq.

Speaking on the occasion, PML-N secretary general Zafar Iqbal Jhagra said that UN and Organisation for Islamic Countries should play their due role to protect the Iraqi Muslims against the US tyrannical order of devastating Iraq. The Muslim countries should get united to thwart the sinister designs of US. If they fail to do so then every one of them will be victim of US imperialistic designs in the coming days, he warned.

Chief of Hizbul Mujahideen NWFP, Maulana Abdul Malik making call for Jehad said that the Muslims were ruling the world in past for their adherence to Jehad and now they have been relegated to disgraceful position due to abandoning Jehad. If we don't adopt the path of Jehad, we will continue to remain at the hit list of infidels, he cautioned.
