California Coaltion for Women Prisoners art project

Did you know that there are over 90,000 women in prison in the U.S. today and that the number of women in prisons has increased 138% in the last ten years?

Our mothers, sisters and friends are being locked up at an increasing rate but not so their strength and creative spirit. Come help to spread their voices by reclaiming public space with their artwork, poetry and stories. We must take back our streets and demand that these women not be forgotten or ignored.

Attend a meeting at the California Coalition for Women Prisoners to discuss, plan and participate with us.
Wednesday October 29th at 1540 Market St. #490 from 6-9pm (vegan food provided).
