20M: Spain hits the streets against the war
[Pics from Madrid´s demo]
Over 40 cities in Spain held demos against the war today. There was less people than last year on the marches, but still attendance in Madrid and Barcelona was over 100.000 persons.
After the March the 11th terrorist attacks on Madrid all the pain turned into rage when the State started lying about the attacks (they pointed towards separatist armed group ETA and denied any outside attack since that could make them loose the elections). On the evening of March 13th Madrid took the streets asking for the truth, and other cities followed. The next day, the 14th, was election day and Aznar -the president that pushed Spain into war- lost. The new president had already said before the attacks that spanish troops would leave Irak, and still says they are leaving in June.
