McDonald's in Chile Is Destroyed in Bombing
June 8 (Bloomberg) -- A McDonald's outlet in the Chilean capital of Santiago was destroyed by a fire after Molotov cocktails were hurled into the restaurant by masked assailants, broadcaster Radio Cooperativa said, citing Chilean police.
Twenty customers were evacuated from the restaurant and there were no injuries, police Colonel Leonardo Ortiz told the radio station. Police are investigating and haven't identified the attackers, he said.
McDonald's Corp., the world's largest restaurant chain, has more than 30,000 restaurants, including 70 in Chile, according to the company's Web site. Oak Brook, Illinois-based McDonald's declined to comment, the company's Chilean public relations division said.
