In the wake of recent vigilante attacks against war-critical artists and gallery owners in San Francisco, the Not in Our Name project is hosting Fear Will Not Silence Us! An Anti-Militarism Art Show. Photography, film, poster art, paintings, video, a fashion show, dj’s and live bands will be on display for a brilliant and creative expression of resistance to the current culture of repression and war.

Curator and Not in Our Name activist, Jasmine Spacher says about the event, “A teenager in Seattle was almost arrested for his anti-war art, and here in San Francisco a gallery owner was beaten just for showing art that was controversial. Art shows of this kind, which bring together the art world and the politically-minded against the war, really need to be happening. It is a part of shifting the culture of our society towards a climate of resistance in many forms.” The show is a benefit to send activists and youth to the protests at the Republican National Convention in New York City (Aug 29 – Sept 2), where organizers are calling for “More than a Million in the Streets” to say NO to the agenda of war and repression.
