Free Bart rides 9/7 don't drive
First Spare the Air Day - get on BART free before 9am.
Tomorrow, Tuesday September 7, is a Spare The Air Day in the San Francisco Bay
Area. Ground-level ozone air pollution is forecast to exceed 100 AQI (Unhealthy
for Sensitive Groups) tomorrow.

MTC, the Air District and BART are offering free morning commutes on this "Spare
the Air" weekday! Enter a BART station between the start of service between 4:30
a.m. and 9 a.m. and ride for free!
In addition, free valet bicycle parking will be provided from 6:30a.m. until
7:00pm at select BART Stations including DUBLIN/PLEASANTON, NORTH BERKELEY,
WALNUT CREEK, DOWNTOWN BERKELEY, AND EMBARCADERO STATIONS. Secure bicycle
parking areas at Dublin/Pleasanton, North Berkeley, and Walnut Creek Stations
will be staffed and adjacent to main station entrances. Downtown Berkeley and
Embarcadero Stations already offer attended bicycle parking on weekdays at
Bikestations, which will have extended hours of operation on Spare the Air Days.
People are being asked to:
- Eliminate vehicle trips
- Use public transit whenever possible
- Postpone errands and link necessary trips
