Important hearing on Monday 9th May @ 9:00am in San Jose

Hello all,
I received a phone call informing me of another important hearing.
Martin Rodriquez, who was falsely arrested and while imprisoned in the
San Jose City jail was brutally beaten and also suffered from emotional
trauma from the violent treatment he received from the staff.

He has a hearing this coming Monday, 9th May in Dept. 49 at 190-200
Hedding Street in the Superior Court building, between Hedding and
highway 87. Judge Teresa Daley-Guerero is hearing his case. She was the
IPA (Independent Police Auditor) during the time he was arrested and did nothing about his false
arrest or his being beaten while he was incarcerated. It is a conflict
of interest that she is the judge sitting on the case. She should
recuse herself.

In any case, the family would appreciate any support you can give them
by showing up for the hearing. I am understanding that his hearing is
on the false charges of him selling drugs.

Martin's trial is on the same day of the Press Conference that CJA is
calling for a ban on the use of Tasers by SJPD. The press conference
starts at 11:00am at City Hall, 801 North First Street, just around the
corner from the Superior Court building. I don't know how many of you
can do both. Please pick one at least.
