Youth Media: Special Public Showing of Newsroom on Access SF — With Producer Rod Laughridge and members of the production team

Thursday, May 5, 7:00 pm
New College Theater, 777 Valencia St., SF

Join us for a showing of the latest episode of Newsroom on Access SF, recently nominated for a Northern California Emmy for Best Current/Public Affairs Program. This month's episode features video programming made by youth media groups including YO! (Youth Outlook), LYRIC (Lavender Youth Recreation and Information Center), Youth Sounds, and Salesforce. The show also includes a special youth commentary by Mumia Abu Jamal, in addition to a seldom heard interview Mumia conducted over 20 years ago while a Philadelphia journalist.

"Newsroom on Access SF is a collaborative effort between the community public access station, channel 29 in San Francisco, and its producers and programmers to bring community based, community reported and produced, independent news and interviews from a grassroots viewpoint, unhindered, uncensored and unaltered. Our mission is to bring the voices and issues of relevance from around the world and let those stories and opinions be heard in a full and forthright manner, giving voice to their own facts without a filter, and unencumbered by anyone or anything."

FREE and open to the public.
