What are the Program Components?
The Coro Community Fellows Program brings together up to 18 adults of all ages from diverse backgrounds who want to enhance their leadership skills, strengthen their community network, and improve their communities through firsthand action. Using Coro's proven leadership training and methodology, Community Fellows receive professional and personal skill development each month on topics including ethical fitness, media training, public speaking, and critical thinking.


Participants gain skills in the following areas:
1. Management & Collaboration: Assessing power relationships, managing in diverse environments, facilitating a group, negotiating and managing conflict
2. Effective Communication: Listening and giving and receiving feedback, questioning effectively, reporting factually, presenting persuasively
3. Analytical Thinking: Organizational and issue analysis, thinking strategically, identifying and challenging assumptions, managing ambiguity
4. Networking: Developing a network of leaders across the government, not for profit, and corporate sectors—who transcend age, socio-economics, sector, race, and politics

How does Financial Aid work?
Tuition for the Coro Community Fellows Program is $3,500. However, Coro Northern California’s financial aid program reflects our belief that individual financial circumstances should NOT be a barrier to participation in a Coro program. Available financial aid is awarded upon admission to the program. Financial aid is disbursed on financial need and scholarship availability.

* Note that selected fellows receiving full scholarships will be required to pay a $100 non-refundable materials fee.


What is the time commitment for the Community Fellows Program FALL 2005?
The Fall 2005 program will meet at the following times at locations throughout the Bay Area:



Orientation Thursday, August 25th – Saturday, August 27th

Wednesday Workshop #1 Wednesday, September 7th

Seminar #1 Friday, September 23rd – Saturday, September 24th
Wednesday Workshop #2 Wednesday, October 5th

Seminar #2 Friday, October 14th– Saturday, October 15th
Wednesday Workshop #3 Wednesday, October 26th

Seminar #3 Friday, November 4th – Saturday, November 5th
Wednesday Workshop #4 Wednesday, November 16th

Seminar #4 Friday, December 2nd – Saturday, December 3rd
Graduation Wednesday, December 7th

-Each Wednesday Workshop is conducted at Coro Northern California in San Francisco and is normally held from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.

-Seminars take place at locations around the Bay Area and are normally from 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Fridays and 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Saturdays.
