The Web: Video search engines come of age
A story about video search capabilities.
Chicago, IL, May. 18 (UPI) -- New video search capabilities, created for broadband Internet users by firms from Google to Lycos, are starting to enable people to search and view select video clips of news, public affairs and entertainment programming from television.
"Audio search exists already -- AltaVista, Lycos and AlltheWeb already have searchable audio files, MP3, WAV, Windows Media, Real, AIFF and others," said Lauren Hall, director of search engine marketing at Schipul, a Web marketing company. "(Now) you can search for video too."
