Stop Evil Funding Cuts to Public Broadcasting!

Recently, a key subcommittee of the U.S. House of Representatives voted to cut federal funding for public broadcasting by 45 percent. They also voted to eliminate funding for the Ready To Learn program, which supports educational and commercial-free children’s programming on public television. These cuts will be devastating to public broadcasting stations everywhere, including San Francisco.

While some in Congress say there is no longer a need to support public broadcasting, others believe that public broadcasting is one of the worthiest places to invest federal funds. We hope you will call your congressman and senators to let them know how much you support public broadcasting. Please act soon. The full House of Representatives could take final action on these cuts by Wednesday, June 22.
