I'm sending this message to let everybody know that
Theresa Dang, the young woman whose home was raided
last month by Garden Grove police looking for a
flashlight that one of their officers lost at the May
25th protest against Minuteman founder Jim Gilchrist,
was formally arraigned this morning on a misdemeanor
petty theft charge at the West Justice Center in
Westminster. A "not guilty" plea was entered into her
behalf by Theresa's attorney, B. Kwaku Duren. Duren
filed additional discovery motions to compel Garden
Grove police to release other evidence that may be of
value to her defense. Commissioner Martin G. Engquist,
who presided over this morning's proceedings, has
scheduled her case for a pre-trial hearing on
Wednesday, August 24, 2005. Around a dozen people
showed up in support of Theresa at today's hearing.
Reporters from both the Los Angeles Times and Orange
County Register plan to publish small articles about
her arraignment in tommorrow's editions.

For more information about the status of five other
persons arrested by Garden Grove police on the night
of May 25th, please see http://www.may25.org or contact
