Please invite other families who have lost loved ones in this war or who have
members currently serving in the military. Support all the Gold Star families
against the war specially the ones from South Bay:

Ken Ballard 7-21-77 to 5-30-2004 (his mother, Karen, spoke on Friday and was
interviewed by the media at the SJ vigil)
Erik Kesterson killed on 11-15-2003 (his mother supports our effort and will try to
attend)
Patrick McCaffrey Killed on 06-22-2004 (his mother Nadia is in Texas now)

Our job is to support them and work to bring all the troops home now alive!

Action Alert: Here's what you can do

1) This weekend Saturday, August 20 and Sunday Augustt 21, attend Camp Ken in San
Jose (named after son of local Gold Star mom Karen Ballard). Demand that the
president talk with Cindy and the other Gold Star parents and military families and
demand BRING THE TROOPS HOME NOW!

2) Flood the White House with phone calls. Let them know that we support Cindy and
that we want George W. Bush to take the time out of his vacation to go out and meet
with her! The number for the White House comment line is 202-456-1111.

3) Make sure your local news outlets are continuing to cover this story and your
local anti-war activities. Call the editor of your paper, and contact producers of
radio shows to encourage their ongoing coverage of this important news.

4) Attend Sept 24th March and Rally in San Francisco (buses being organized from San
Jose by SBM and Students for Justice). Cindy Sheehan will be speaking at the massive
anti-war protest in Washington, D.C., on September 24. This may be the most
important anti-war demonstration yet. Make your plans now to join Cindy and
thousands in SF and D.C., and help make September 24 the largest ever demonstration
against the war.
