This video shows Ringling elephants in their previous two tours at various venues throughout the Bay Area in 2003 and 2004. You'll see the elephants struggling against leg chains. You'll see the elephants being struck with bullhooks. You'll see the elephants rocking back and forth in distress. Note that a section of this video from 2004 in Oakland led to charges by animal welfare authorities. As a result, Ringling now is very careful not to allow video behind the scenes nor during performances and it is increasingly difficult to document their treatment of elephants.
