Greens Outraged At Governor's Veto of Same-Sex Marriage

by flindet (flindet [at] sacgreens.org)
Greens' Lavender Caucus 'outraged' at Governor's decision to veto same-sex marriage bill, promise they will 'be back'
The Lavender Caucus of the Green Party has expressed outrage at the Governor's decision to veto legislation providing equal marriage rights to same-sex couples. The legislation, AB 849, passed the full California Legislature. After Schwarzenegger's claims of being a "social progressive", many are disappointed by this discriminatory action. The California Green Party's gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community supported the lobbying effort of Equality California, the coalition responsible for the legislative success.
