It is barricades time to defeat Nazi Schwarzenegger's propositions on the California ballot, Props 73 through 78. We need you now, whether or not you are a voter, and regardless of age, to make phone calls and walk precincts 7 days a week, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Join us at 1338 Mission Street between 9th and 10th Streets (Civic Center BART) in San Francisco, or any of the other Northern California campaign offices listed below, from http://www.betterca.com/norcal_offices
7 days a week, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., for phone banks, and during the day, precinct walking. We have over 500 precincts in San Francisco and we must identify all our supporters, which is about 85% of San Francisco's 300,000 voters and push them to the polls by phone during Get Out The Vote (GOTV) weekend, 11/6-8/05. The hard work is being done now, and we have at least 50 phone lines, which should be used 12 hours a day, 7 days a week. That means we need everyone now to stop this vicious attack on the workingclass, our school system, and every other advance in this society. A special election is always difficult for a workingclass victory because it is usually a low voter turnout election. We have to maximize our votes, and that is especially true in the 9 counties of the Bay Area, where the opposition to Schwarzenegger is the strongest. We have done it before and won, and we must do it again.

The food is great and plentiful including sumptuous sandwiches, sodas, chips and delicious homemade chocolate chip and oatmeal cookies. There is also unlimited coffee and hot tea. The neighborhood has good hot food, and as we get closer to election day, we can be sure more food will be at campaign headquarters as labor campaigns usually have lots of good food.

Everything is well organized at the SEIU union hall at 1338 Mission Street, and we have scripts in Spanish for voters who feel more comfortable speaking Spanish.

TODAY, NOW, EVERYONE, GET OUT AND CAMPAIGN. If you have not voted, vote absentee at your registrar of voters, which in San Francisco is at City Hall, basement on the Van Ness side between Grove and McAllister, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on the weekends of Oct 29-30 and Nov 5-6. Register as a permanent absentee voter so you receive the ballot at home in every election and can mail it immediately. Anyone can register as a permanent absentee voter.
