Black Solidarity Day 2005

"Uniting Africa and African People throughout the
Diaspora"

Commemorating the 60th Anniversary of the 5th
Pan-African Congress

Saturday, November 5, 2006
4 - 7 pm
5707 Telegraph Ave.
Oakland, CA

Organized by the African Anti-War Front: Malcolm X
Grassroots Movement, All African People’s
Revolutionary Party, Masjid-Al Islam.

Statement:
Black Solidarity Day was established in 1969 to build
unity amongst African organizations in the US
struggling against the US government and its
COINTELPRO operations to destroy the African
Liberation Movement. This included a boycott of the
sham elections held throughout the US empire on
November 2nd. We continue to honor this day
understanding the necessity of building and practicing
unity within the African community.

The 5th Pan-African Congress (PAC) was held in
Manchester, England in 1945. We are commemorating the
60th anniversary of this conference because it was the
most focused of the efforts at bringing Africans from
throughout the world together to achieve unity. The
leadership from this conference lead the anti-colonial
struggles that attained political independence for
most of the countries on the African continent by
1980. However, the struggle for the true liberation of
Africa and African peoples from capitalism and
imperialist domination remains. Forward in the
struggle for African unity and freedom!

Program:
Flim clips from "W.E.B. Du Bois: A biography in Four
Voices".

Panel and Community Discussion on the need to build
African unity to fight US lead imperialism, with
special guests Pierre LaBossiere, Nabantu Nkoanda, and
Jimmy Garrett.

Revolutionary African Culture.
