Viva!USA Alerts 12/2/05 1. You Can Help Raise Awareness for Turkeys 2. Honeybaked Horror for Christmas 3. Chicken campaign launch a "Little" success Our new turkey PSA with Heather Mills McCartney raises awareness of the horrific conditions that turkeys endure prior to slaughter, including having their toes amputated to prevent stress induced fighting. We want to reach the largest audience possible with this message over the holiday season! You can help by donating to run the PSA on Animal Planet in cities like San Francisco. For $100, the PSA will run 5 times (prime time), reaching thousands of viewers! Donate
at: www.vivausa.org/donate/index.html and mark it is for the PSA. 2. Honeybaked Horror for Christmas It is
ironic that a holiday that focuses on giving and sharing with loved ones
should be celebrated with the violence and horror that turns pigs into
Christmas ham. Each year, Viva!USA activists across the country
organize to protest the treatment of pigs on factory farms and at
slaughterhouses by leafleting outside Honeybaked
Ham. And each year, activists convince some customers to
choose another way to celebrate the holidays.
3. Chicken campaign launch a "Little" success Thanks to everyone who made the launch of our chicken campaign a big success! In 40 cities across the country, activists handed out our new leaflets on the chicken industry at the opening of Disney's Chicken Little on Nov. 4th. Press coverage of the event spread the word to those who didn't go to the film. Check out one article on our website: www.vivausa.org/campaigns/chickens/newsarticle.html For more information about our chicken campaign, or to order leaflets and campaign materials, e-mail us at chickens@vivausa.org. |
