The fate of Oakland Animal Services to be decided by the Oakland City Council TONITE!
This is probably the last chance to voice our opinion. PLEASE attend and lend your support for removing Oakland Animal Services from the Police Department!
WHEN: Tuesday, January 10 at 7:30 PM
WHERE: Public Safety Commission Meeting
Oakland City Hall
One Frank H. Ogawa Plaza, 2nd floor
Oakland, CA 94612
(510) 444- CITY (2489)
The Oakland Police Department does not arrest or prosecute animal abusers, including those who participate in dog fighting rings.
Besides your attendance at the meeting, your polite email letters to Oakland City Council members would be greatly appreciated:
Please send your letters to the following City Council Members before tomorrow's meeting: Ignacio De La Fuente at idelafuente [at] oaklandnet.com Larry Reid at lreid [at] oaklandnet.com Jane Brunner at jbrunner [at] oaklandnet.com
In your own words, politely ask them to remove the Oakland Animal Shelter from the Police Department and NOT pass the recommendations of City Manager Deborah Edgerly which would keep the Oakland Animal Shelter under Police management.
