Little Hope Left For Morales
Michael Morales is scheduled to be executed by lethal injection early Tuesday morning; however there is little hope that he will be granted clemency. "Schwarzenegger is now playing his favorite role as governor and it's another version of the terminator", says Alexander.

With only hours remaining before condemned inmate Michael Morales is scheduled to die by lethal injection, there is little hope that his life will be spared while being in the hands of Governor Schwarzenegger. The governor has shown no willingness in recent weeks to show mercy on any condemned inmate, in denying clemency to Stanley “Tookie” Williams, despite wide public appeals to spare his life, and Clarence Ray Allen, an elderly man that was sick and crippled.
“I am disturbed about this system because the media has been effectively used to brain wash a few into screaming for these public murders in the name of justice,” says Stewart Alexander, Candidate for California Lieutenant Governor, for the Peace and Freedom Party.
Alexander says, “These executions do not represent the greater will of society, this is the will of a small group of Republicans and Schwarzenegger who serves as their front man before the camera”.
Michael Morales was convicted in 1983 for the rape and murder of a 17 year old Lodi girl, Terri Winchell, and has spent over 24 years behind bars. Stewart Alexander believes the system was manipulated by using a jail house informant to get the death penalty for Morales.
“We say justice is blind but I say not in America. Morales will be put to death because he killed a beautiful white girl. If Terri Winchell had been Black, I know this would have been a different story. The present leadership in this country is losing the confidence of millions of Americans, Blacks, Hispanics, poor Whites and the homeless because the system is about just us and not justice”, says Alexander.
The Peace and Freedom Party and Stewart Alexander are opposed to capital punishment because it is cruel, uncivilized, state sponsored murder, and not about justice. Stewart Alexander believes that Michael Morales should spend the rest of his life in prison, without the possibility of parole, for his criminal acts against Terri Winchell and society.
Alexander says, “I would ask the people of California, America and the world to contact Schwarzenegger and ask for clemency for Morales, however I don’t think he is running the show. I believe the governor is given his script but Californians will never see the program director.”
