A community Memorial Service for Jay (Zalmo/Buck)
BloomBecker will be held this coming Sunday June 25 at
4 PM at the Pacific Cultural Center, 1307 Seabright
(at Broadway) in Santa Cruz CA.

Community members are invited to come together with
Jay’s family and friends to celebrate Jay’s life, and
to offer support to each other as we mourn his
passing. Jay was involved in numerous activities and
organizations, near and far. He was an active member
of many different overlapping communities, and his
death is a tragic loss to so very many people.

Jay was a big-hearted person who loved life. This
Sunday’s memorial service will reflect Jay’s eternal
optimism and his quirky nature with an unconventional
blend of readings, prayers, blessings, remembrances,
music and dance.

Everyone is invited to bring something to share with
the community: memories of Jay, poems, prayers, music,
skits. Spontaneous expressions are also welcome.

We will have a memory table where we can place photos
and remembrances of Jay. A memory book will be
available for those who wish to leave behind photos,
drawings, writings and other items to serve as a
collective recollection.

Instead of traditional mourning attire, we ask that
people remember Jay’s vitality and wear lots of bright
colors. Jay loved silly hats, so please feel free to
wear a silly hat in honor of Jay.
