FSRN: ICE Raids Shake Up Central Coast

The Immigration and Customs Enforcement conducted a series of pre-dawn raids last week in Santa Cruz, and Monterey Counties, dubbed "Operation Return to Sender." One-hundred-seven people were netted In the sweeps. This week, religious leaders of many denominations and social justice activists, took aim at federal immigration policy and denounced "Operation Return to Sender." Vinny Lombardo reports.

§The Innocent victims of the ICE campaign

I teach in local schools. Last week I had a 6 year old girl in one of my classes. This little girl just had her
whole world fall apart. Her mother was deported a few weeks ago. Now she is living only with her
father while she tries to function without her mother.

As a direct result, her grades have dropped, she can no longer concentrate in class,
and she is not the happy little girl she was previously.

Those who think they are doing the right thing by deporting "illegals" are directly responsible
for the effect on the children who are deprived of a parent, like my student is.

Without a rational, reasonable, and fair method for regulating immigration,
our country has gone down the wrong road, creating an environment where
innocent people suffer irreparable harm.

I mean, how are these bigots going to give this little girl her childhood back?
