Maintain Farmer Livelihoods

FREE TRILINGUAL (THAI-ENGLISH-SPANISH) EVENT

Come learn how small-scale coffee-growers
from Chiapas Mexico, and Jasmine rice farmers from Thailand are organizing locally and globally to protect their livelihoods by resisting free trade agreements (FTAs) and building alternatives through fair trade, and sustainable agriculture.
Speaker Profiles
Mr. Ubon Yuwa- is coordinator of the Alternative Agriculture Network in the Northeast of Thailand. He is currently the Southeast Asian representative to Via Campesinas the international farmers movement, where he organizes internationally to advocate for the rights of small-scale farmers.
Mr. Pascual Moreno - is treasurer of the CESMACH fair trade coffee cooperative from Chiapas Mexico. CESMACH has been exporting Fair Trade coffee to the US for over ten years, and is deeply committed to sustainable agriculture and protecting local ecology.

Venga y aprenda cómo los agricultores de escala pequeña de café en Chiapas, Mexico, y agricultores de arroz jazmín en Tailandia se están organizando localmente y globalmente para proteger sus medios de vida con la resistencia a los acuerdos de comercios libres (FTAs), desarrollando alternativas con el comercio justo y con la agricultura sostenible.
Perfiles de los Presentadores
Sr. Ubon Yuwa- es el coordinador de la Red de la Agricultura Alternativa en el noreste de Tailandia. Ahora mismo es el representante del sureste de Asia con Via Campesinas, el movimiento internacional de agricultores, donde él organiza a nivel internacional para abogar por los derechos de agricultores de escala pequeña.
Sr. Pascual Moreno – es el tesorero de CESMACH, la cooperativa del comercio justo de café, de Chiapas, Mexico. CESMACH ha estado exportando café comercio justo al EEUU. por más de diez años, y está comprometido profundamente a la agricultura sostenible y a la protección de la ecología regional.
