This is the story of his
ongoing struggle and court appeal with agri-chemical
and GMO giant, Monsanto. Longtime farmers from Saskatchewan, Canada, Percy
Schmeiser and his wife Louise were close to reaching
retirement when they were surprisingly sued by Monsanto in 1998. Monsanto
claimed the Schmeisers were illegally growing their patented GM technology,
RoundUp Ready Canola, in their fields, but Schmeiser
was yet another victim of unwanted, illegal, GMO
contamination, and decided to take his fight all the
way to the Supreme Court. The Schmeisers never
wanted the GM seed to enter their crop fields in the
first place, and they have been sharing their story
ever since.

*GMO Genetically Modified Organisms - Plants and animals that have their
genetic code modified by injecting foreign genes. Examples include corn with
a pesticide in every kernel and strawberries with a fish gene to prevent
freezing. Since this new technology is unregulated and food is not labeled,
you are probably eating GMOs.
