Regional Black Farmer Forum ~ Senator Obama Supports Black Farmers
Come and support Senator Obama Oakland Rally, Black Farmers are an endangered species in the California Food and Farm community. Poor health outcomes directly related to the lack of fresh fruit and vegetables in our communites can be changed in the 2007 Farm Bill.
Presidential candidate Senator Barack Obama has announced he will hold a public rally this Saturday, March 17, 2007 outside Oakland City Hall in Frank Ogawa Plaza.
Gates are scheduled to open at 3 p.m.
The event is free, but his campaign is trying to control the number of people who attend by having people print out tickets in advance at this Web link.

This will be Senator Obama's first Bay Area appearance since officially declaring he is running for president.
Senator Obama has introduced legislation to help thousands of Black Farmers who were denied entry into the Pigford v. Glickman settlement, which ended a discrimination lawsuit between Black Farmers and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Today, there is almost one California Black Farmer for every 100,000 Black citizens in the State of California and we represent almost 1/3 of 1% of all California Farmers.
Join the California Black Farmers and Agriculturalists Association in this history making weekend.
We must generate support for Black Farmers growing fresh fruit and vegetables for better health in our communities. Community Action in the 2007 Farm Bill debate is necessary.
