The interview with Comrade Guarav will air on http://www.UhuruRadio.com - the show Africa Live on Sunday, March 18th at 11am Eastern.

On August 20, 2003, Chandra Prakash Gajurel, known to millions of people in Nepal and South Asia as Comrade Gaurav, was arrested by Indian authorities as he attempted to travel to Europe to support the battle against imperialist intervention in his country.

International pressure recently forced the government of India to release Comrade Guarav after holding him in prison for three years. Comrade Guarav is a member of the Political Bureau and Head of International Affairs of the CP-Nepal.

In this interview, recorded on March 14, he discusses an alliance of Nepalese political parties recently formed to wage struggle in the electoral arena to challenge the hegemony of the current ruling monarchy.

He also reviews the state of the people's war, now in its tenth year in Nepal. It has been characterized by the US government as “terrorist,” but even corporate media such as the BBC, France's Le Monde, the New York Times and India Today, have acknowledged that millions of Nepalese have rallied to the side of the popular insurgency in Nepal.

Also this week:

"Uhuru On The Move " 13:00 (US Eastern) - Peggy Morris, Director of the Jamaican Housing Development in NYC will talk with International People's Democratic Uhuru Movement organizer Kobina Bantushango about the struggle for decent housing in the African community. Mao Tse Tung's policies took the lives of millions of Chinese through force starvation. He also founded a state based on political repression and terror that killed and imprisoned millions more, culminating in the disastrous Cultural Revolution, which amounted to a genocide against dissidents, the intelligentsia and anyone seen as a threat to Mao's absolute rule.

Maoism is a demented, murderous ideology and of absolutely no use to anyone calling themselves progressive or leftist. His modern day adherents are to be ignored and shunned for espousing such an evil ideology.

Whatever problems there may be with Maoism, it is clear to anybody who wishes to see that the most demented, murderous ideology affecting the world today -- and for the last several hundred years -- is imperialist capitalist ideology. The capitalist practice that is the concrete manifestation of capitalist ideology results in at least 20,000,000 excess deaths each year and is threatening to cause hundreds of millions of deaths through environmental devastation!

The main problem with Nepal's Maoists is that they apparently have sold out the revolutionary struggle there in exchange for places in the capitalist government.

Aarons response is typical of the out of touch left. Whatever problems there are with Maoism? Excuse me. The man installed an absolute tyranny, which killed millions. Guys like Aarons probably squealed with glee watching in 89 as tanks ran over hundreds of democracy activists in Tianamen Square.

And this figure of capitalist ideology leading to the deaths of 20,000,000 a year, where did this figure come from? It's from some loopy Maoist or Trotskyite study no doubt. If it isn't just made up out of thin air.

Betraying revolutionary struggle? What revolutionary struggle is that? Look around Aarons. History has passed you by. The brutal tin-pot tyrannies of the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe have all come crashing down. Unfortunately that murderous ideology held on for decades killing and enslaving millions before finally vanishing. But, guys like Aarons long for the return of these corrupt police states.

You see Aarons in your beloved China. The internet, the tool you're using now, is censored by the state. In "capitalist" America you have the freedom to view the internet unhindered. No secret police are going to drag you out of your home in the middle of the night for believing the wrong thing. If your so-called revolutionary struggle ever succeeded that's exactly what would happen to people who thought the wrong way. I hope you can realize sometime in your life that there are worse things in the world than Western Democracy with all its flaws and problems. I hope you don't look back on a wasted life and see that you've spent it supporting a murderous and brutal totalitarianism that the rest of the world long ago abandoned.
