Access Sacramento announced that as of Wed. May 2, 2007 all of the locally produced, noncommercial content on Cable channel 17 will be streamed online 24 hours per day at http://www.accesssacramento.org.
"Our local producers are very excited. It takes a great deal of work to
produce a regular TV or radio program. With distribution of their
programming to any Internet connected computer in the world, local
voices are amplified, friends and family join in, and Sacramento County
events and experiences now have a world-wide audience. These are
indeed, exciting times," stated Ron Cooper, Access Sacramento Executive
Director.
This service comes at no cost to Access Sacramento because of their partnership with Video Streaming Services Company (VSSC). VSSC will use this project to demonstrate their capabilities in digital encoding and streaming services.
