2011 California Day of Inclusion ~ Hall of Fame ~ over 50 sites named "Nigger..."

by michael harris
The Great State of California was established September 9, 1850, postponing the U.S. Civil War via Gold Rush economic consideration. Peter Burnett, first California Governor, proposed to export all people of African descent out of California in his first address to the people. Assembly B"ill 395 "Nigger Bill" continued the debate from the California Constitution Convention of what to do with a people "who will forever be a scourge upon our society." In the 2nd decade of the 21st century the debate continues utilizing the notion that the pejorative form of Negro is the word "Nigger." The values and beliefs of racial hatred and economic exclusion remains an unspoken given that must be challenged as we prepare to celebrate 2011 California Day of Inclusion ~ Hall of Fame...

California Day of Inclusion is building an essential conversation of how we as a nation embrace our past, present and future. "To form a more perfect union" is an action and responsibility of being a citizen of the United States of America.

The California Gold Rush of 1848 began a flood of immigrants, sudden enormous wealth, and the creation of the wild, wild west. U.S. military leaders stationed in California, led by the New York Volunteers, help establish early maritime laws during the early years.

California is named after Queen Califia, a warrior queen of African descent who battled Hernan Cortes, back in the 16th century. Many centuries of people of African descent contributed to the foward flow of humanity in the vast California terrority throughout Spanish, Mexican and U.S. authority.

The notion of "Unknown Niggers" remains the hope and supported value currently on display, and part of the Hall of Fame in California.

The pejorative form of the NBA ~ Negroes Being Athletic ~ continues to be a diversion of the ongoing challenge to full equity and equal opportunity for people of African descent in the Great State of California.

Today, Nigger Creek, Rough and Ready, California is on full display. Many, many different kinds of butterflies are in the area, thus the signifigant contributions of people of African ancestry in the Nevada County during the California Gold Rush is highly offensive to some who embrace values and beliefs from the 19h century.

Nationwide, the United States Board on Geographic Names is faces with constant challenges to eliminating the historic documentation of contributions from people of African ancestry to the U.S. landscape, from sea to shinning sea.

The notion for "Nigger" as a pejorative form of Negro is part of the story... a much deeper challenge is to identify the contributions of the human beings in the geographic regions in question, sharing an authentic contribution to our great nation.

Throughout California, modern hate crimes, changing names, places and people is systemic.

People of African descent did not name the places or establish any town or region by the name Nigger.

The authentic contributions and original names can share an inclusive story as we embrace the journey to establish a more perfect union.

Nigger Creek, California is a modern hate crime and considering renaming the region Butterfly Creek is a more egregious human right violation against the world.

The Nevada County of Supervisors must be supported in standing up against the values and beliefs from the successionist who seek another U.S. Civil War in 2012.

The inter-agency working group on the National Board of Geographic Names, led by Secretary Rodger Payne, can make a broad global statement about how we remove the word "Nigger" from official U.S. gegological maps while teaching authentic U.S. History.

Niggerhead, Texas was a good start.

Nigger Hill, California was a disaster, hate crimes hidden and distroyed in the name of dignity.

Nigger Creek, California

The law is clear, policy is written, however hate remains and fear keeps many silent.

Policy V is a good start.
