For every worker who, like Kathleen Carroll, has the courage to take a stand against malfeasance, misappropriations, and mismanagement in the workplace, many more private and government workers remain silent as they hide in fear and shame. Not all of us are willing to go along to get along. A growing number of citizens are sincere when they pledge to uphold the Constitutions of the State of California and of the United States of America. Many honest women, young people, and men have not been corrupted and will never be paid enough in wages to stay silent when we see rules of our workplaces breeched and the morals of our common society ignored. Tax payers are footing the exorbitant price tags on meaningless jobs we know are falsely constructed to line the pockets of crooks. The California Healthy Workplace Advocates thank Kathleen Carroll for blowing the whistle. Targeted teachers thank Kathleen Carroll. Unrewarded whistleblowers and workers who have suffered retaliation across our State because they knew "too much" thank Ms. Carroll for daring to risk everything - her career, her home, and her health. The watchdog Commission for California teachers and administrators in our public schools clearly needs to be watched. Otherwise it will evolve into a gold-plated avenue for lining the pockets of privateers. All the children of our State - poor and rich, of color or not - deserve no less. If the Commission cannot do this work in a fair and honest manner, it needs to be abolished. As more brave Americans dare to speak the truth, we need to support and protect them because they are our true modern heroes.
