On 1916 a Preparedness Day bombing in San Francisco killed 10 and injured 40 people and brought a witch hunt against labor and leftists. Two union militants and socialists Tom Mooney and Warren Billings were framed for the bombing and convicted in a kangaroo court.
San Francisco Chronicle reporter Carl Nolte discussed the case on November 29, 1916 at the Labor Archives and Research Center in San Francisco which sponsored the event.
