Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals in California

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights dictates automatic liberties an individual must be guaranteed through any jurisdiction a part of the United Nations. With newly elected President Donald Trump, the administrative cabinet is challenging those rights on undocumented recipients on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.

President Trump enacted two executive orders that pertain to law enforcement and immigration that target criminals without mentioning DACA recipients. Currently, one DACA recipient has been deported, at least ten DACA recipients are in federal custody, and one has been recently released due to insufficient evidence on a crime being committed.

In Sonoma County there are 29,000 unauthorized individuals and 15,000 people are eligible for DACA. In the country, only 10,000 students graduate from a university out of the 65,000 undocumented immigrants that graduated from high school. These disproportionate numbers jeopardizes adversity within our education, social, and economic systems.

If President Trump does choose to obstruct DACA recipients or any undocumented individual their basic rights based on citizenship, we have the Declaration of Human Rights to prove regardless of your citizenship, you are human, you are here, and you do have rights.
