Queer resistance projects in the streets on Pride weekend

by #queerresistance
Street projectionists descend on San Francisco over Pride weekend to share messages of resistance. Events will be ongoing throughout the weekend in Civic Center, the Castro and Mission neighborhoods.

No pride in corporate exploitation.
No pride in state violence and incarceration.
No pride in evictions and displacement.
Stonewall was a riot!

San Francisco's Corporate Advertising "Pride" Parade had some protest, as did other Gay Freedom Day Protests. See "Gay Pride Parades Sound a Note of Resistance" by Olga Rodriguez, Associated Press, 6/25/17 at
http://www.truthdig.com/report/item/gay_pride_parades_sound_a_note_of_resistance_20170625

This year, San Francisco's Gay Freedom Day Parade (that was the term 47 years ago when these parades started as a small protest, with no corporate sponsors, dangerous floats that caused the liability insurance to be astronomical, and expensive sound systems on stages) had as its theme "For Racial and Economic Justice." That is of course a goal that cannot be achieved by a gay liberation movement; it takes a labor movement to make such fundamental change.
See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Francisco_Pride

The above cited article describes the protest of the police presence at these parades across the country and of the attacks on healthcare from the federal government, with no effort on the part of Democrats to counter the Republican attack with Medicare for All, casting both the Republicans and Democrats into their long overdue dustbin of history. Peace & Freedom Party and the Green Party always support Medicare for All.

Perhaps next year we can see projections that state No American Has Anything to Be Proud Of. Americans can have no pride in genocide of Native Americans, enslavement of Africans, and the vicious exploitation of the labor of all nationalities, including children, to this day. And as the anti-Zionist gay organizations state, there can be no pride in apartheid. Israel is another settler colony, like the United States, engaging in genocide of its native people, paid for with American tax dollars.
