National Security Advisor John Bolton threatens ICC judges with sanctions and arrests over war crimes allegations

Reportedly, yesterday the United States threatened to arrest and sanction judges and other officials of the International Criminal Court (ICC) if the organization tries to charge Americans or its allies with war crimes during their involvement in the occupation, and invasion of Afghanistan.
The ICC Reports: “The International Criminal Court (ICC) has published its findings from victims who suffered war crimes in relation to the Afghan conflict, either in Afghanistan or in other countries. The victims mentioned murder, rape, forced disappearance, attacks against civilians and pillage. The ICC report said victims’ backing for an ICC investigation was “overwhelming” with 98 per cent of victims who made submissions to the Court saying they wanted to see this happen. As AAN Co-Director Kate Clark reports, the ball is now in the hands of the Court’s Pre-Trial Chamber’s judges who have to decide to investigate, or not.”
Appearing as a cheap imitation of a thug yesterday while giving a speech to the nefarious Federalist Society at the Mayflower Hotel, National Security Advisor John Bolton threatened the International Criminal Court (ICC) with sanctions for looking into the alleged crimes against humanity and war crimes committed in Afghanistan since May 1, 2003.
On Monday, September 10, reportedly Bolton said: “In November of 2017, the ICC prosecutor requested authorization to investigate alleged war crimes committed by US service members and intelligence professionals during the war in Afghanistan - an investigation neither Afghanistan nor any other state party to the Rome Statute requested. Any day now, the ICC may announce the start of a formal investigation against these American patriots, who voluntarily went into harm's way to protect our nation, our homes, and our families in the wake of the 9/11 attacks. The ICC prosecutor has requested to investigate these Americans for alleged detainee abuse, and perhaps more - an utterly unfounded, unjustifiable investigation. We will not cooperate with the ICC. We will provide no assistance to the ICC. We will not join the ICC. We will let the ICC die on its own. After all, for all intents and purposes, the ICC is already dead to us.”
Threatening the war crimes court is reminiscent of activities that Hitler and the Third Reich would be involved in when facing prosecution for committing crimes against humanity and war crimes.
According to the ICC regarding a total number of 699 victims representations: “All representation forms received from victims are sent to the ICC Judges only. They are also stored in a secure database accessed only by authorized ICC staff. The Judges can decide whether or not to share this information with the ICC Prosecutor. The ICC will prepare, in the coming weeks, a report on the views and concerns of victims; the original, complete report will be sent to the Judges, and a redacted version will be made public, so that no identifying information of any victim is disclosed to the public. The Judges are now reviewing all representation forms received alongside the facts outlined in the Prosecutor’s request, and will then decide whether or not to authorize an investigation as outlined in the Prosecutor’s request.”
According to a final consolidated report on victim’s representations: “The Registry notes that 686 of the Transmitted Representations could be clearly assessed within the parameters of its preliminary Rule 85 assessment; these representations were introduced on behalf of approximately 6,220 individual victims. Amongst these representations, there were 17 forms also submitted on behalf of 1,690 families. A further 12 representations were introduced by individuals and by organizations on behalf of approximatively 1,163,950 victims and 26 villages. Finally, another representation was submitted by an organization reportedly on behalf of approximatively 7 to 9 million people.”
Trying to ward off the investigation before it begins into the alleged crimes against humanity and war crimes committed in Afghanistan since May 1, 2003, in a fiery speech to the members of the nefarious Federalist Society, extreme right-wing fascist National Security Advisor John Bolton did what he could to discredit the ICC and he made numerous threats to the Judges and prosecutor/s of the ICC.
Reportedly, Bolton said: “Today, it is fitting that we reassert this fundamental promise within these walls. This afternoon, we also make a new pledge to the American people.”
"If the court comes after us, Israel or other US allies, we will not sit quietly. We will take the following steps, among others, in accordance with the American Service members' Protection Act and our other legal authorities:
• We will negotiate even more binding, bilateral agreements to prohibit nations from surrendering US persons to the ICC. And we will ensure that those we have already entered are honored by our counterpart governments.
• We will respond against the ICC and its personnel to the extent permitted by US law. We will ban its judges and prosecutors from entering the United States. We will sanction their funds in the US financial system, and we will prosecute them in the US criminal system. We will do the same for any company or state that assists an ICC investigation of Americans.
• We will take note if any countries cooperate with ICC investigations of the United States and its allies, and we will remember that cooperation when setting US foreign assistance, military assistance, and intelligence sharing levels.
• We will consider taking steps in the UN Security Council to constrain the court's sweeping powers, including ensuring that the ICC does not exercise jurisdiction over Americans and the nationals of our allies that have not ratified the Rome Statute.
“This administration will fight back to protect American constitutionalism, our sovereignty, and our citizens. No committee of foreign nations will tell us how to govern ourselves and defend our freedom. We will stand up for the US constitution abroad, just as we do at home. And, as always, in every decision we make, we will put the interests of the American people first.”
According to the New York Times the ICC believed that American soldiers in Afghanistan committed war crimes, including torture. Additionally, according to the ICC, “The United States is not a party to the court, which was established to prosecute war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide. But Afghanistan is a member of the court, so allegations of crimes committed in its territory, no matter the nationality of the perpetrators, are widely considered to be fair game.”
