Issues Struggle At KPFA & Pacifica-A Town Hall Meeting
The future of KPFA and Pacifica was addressed at a KPFA townhall meeting in Berkeley on September 24, 2023. All candidates were invited to present their perspectives and views about what is going on at KPFA and Pacifica and how this independent media network can be protected
and become a vital media broadcast platform for the people of the Northern California and the United States. The KPFA management has refused to have carts of the candidate on the air and the one panel that was held on the air has not been publicized by the management.
"The Protectors" which control the Board also opposed a resolution to call for the dropping of criminal charges against KPFA journalist Frank Sterling who was attacked and arrested by the racist Antioch police.
The Town Hall was sponsored by Rescue Pacifica.

"The Protectors" have defended KPFA's management decision to put Ian Masters on the air 9 hours a week. Masters wants to make military industrial complex more efficient and supports the continued incarceration of journalist Mumia Abu-Jamal. He also quit KPFK after telling listeners that they should not contribute to KPFK because he did not agree with some of it's programmers.
