KPFA's Management Pushing Pro-Imperialist Propaganda Says Former KPFA Supporter

by repostt
KPFA management according to a former supporter is pushing pro-war and pro-imperialist propaganda on the air with some of their programmers like Ian Masters who puts out CIA talking points. He also includes KPFA's Chris Welch who argued that supporting a ceasefire in Gaza would be supporting Hamas.
The former supporter also criticized the manager's survey for not allowing comments from the listeners and members.
KPFA Survey and Comments

To Whom It May Concern:

I used to be a KPFA member, but I stopped supporting this radio station. I heard of the KPFA survey and thought I would be able to comment on this radio station and its programming. But no, there is no space in the survey to post comments.

So, here are the main reasons why I stopped being a KPFA supporter.

I find it very ironic that Ian Masters’ show, “Background Briefing,” is supposed to offer listeners “an educational approach to providing information in an era of ‘fake news’.” This show is a regurgitated series of diatribes, blunt, unequivocal and highly disturbing demonstrations of Russophobia, Sinophobia, and Arabophobia. All this man does in his show is disseminate the globalist, imperialist propaganda we are constantly bombarded with by US mainstream media. This show is symptomatic in the sense that it stands as a clear indication of how clueless (or maybe he doesn’t want to face the truth, face his own prejudices?) this man is about domestic and international geopolitics. It is symptomatic because many shows in the US are hosted by people like him. Such a shame! Symptomatic and ironic also because the US globalist, neocon propaganda that defines Background Briefing is precisely this: fake news.

Also, he keeps on slamming Trump but he never truly addresses, let alone acknowledges the atrocious acts committed by the US White House, throughout the world, since the end of WWII. All US Presidents, not just Trump, have played a major role in consolidating US hegemony and making the world what it is now: a huge mess, a mayhem filled with wars, wars, wars, despair, slavery, authoritarianism, genocides, ethnic cleansing, and much more horrors.

The Talkies, Kris Welch: used to think Mrs Welch was a good radio host, but since the beginning of the US-proxy war in Ukraine, I have been appalled at what she says and who she invites to talk about the Ukraine war and Israeli genocide on Palestinians. Just like Mr Masters, Mrs Welsh should go on a Zen retreat to look into herself and her prejudices. And stop inviting condescending US journalists, who are supposedly experts in foreign affairs but are suffering from acute American Exceptionalism.

Overall, KPFA, when addressing domestic politics and all topics related to Asia, Africa, Europe and particularly Russia, China and the Middle East, stop disseminating propaganda. Because, in the end, that's what you do: you act mainstream, and buy into all the horrors that comes with Uncle Sam's hegemonic order, the US "Rules-Based Order".
