Jerry Brown Announces Global Climate Action Summit As He Promotes Fracking, Delta Tunnels
The New York Times didn’t mention that “America's de facto leader on climate change” received $9.8 million from oil, gas and utility companies, often within days of winning big favors, since he ran for Governor, according to a report released by the the Santa Monica-based Consumer Watchdog last August: http://www.consumerwatchdog.org/dirtyhands Photo: Governor Brown and President Xi of the People's Republic of China meet on Day 3, June 6, of Brown's trip to China. Fishing and Conservation Groups Sue to Block Delta Tunnels Project
“This version of the tunnels will wipe out California’s salmon fishery and the families and communities that rely on salmon,” said John McManus, executive director of the Golden Gate Salmon Association. “The problem is the state basically allowed the water users to design the tunnels and they’re so huge that the federal fish and wildlife agencies are basically throwing up their hands. It’s like they let the fox design the hen house so of course he made it easy to rob.”...

Trump administration approves permit to construct Delta Tunnels
“The federal government has only released a biological opinion on the construction of the tunnels—the public will have to wait for future biological opinions on the intakes and operations of the project,” explained Bill Jennings, Executive Director of the California Sportfishing Protection Alliance (CSPA). “In essence, they’re asking contractors to commit to paying for construction without knowing how the projects will be operated and how much water can be exported.” Photo: Paul Souza, Pa...

The links between Delta Tunnels and faux "marine protected areas" are deep & alarming
If you haven't read this article already, I urge you to do so. It is one of the most important pieces on water, the Delta and coastal protection that you will ever read. Everybody who cares about stopping the Delta Tunnels and restoring our salmon and other fish populations MUST read this article and share it with others. You will rarely find deep investigative journalism like this in the mainstream media or most "alternative" media. The deep relationship between the MLPA Initiative and ...

Timeline of Stockton, CA killings by law enforcement, 2007 - present
This timeline mapping state violence in Stockton, CA was collectively generated as part of a larger ongoing convivial research effort to expose low intensity war across the Bay Area and state. The timeline was produced through a collaboration between the Center for Convivial Research and Autonomy (CCRA) and the efforts of families and grassroots groups in Stockton and beyond. Because of the high number of killings in Stockton, we have had to modify the format to a range of ten year increments...

Why Delta Stewardship Council's Endorsement of Delta Tunnels Is So Wrong
Below is my three-minute testimony before the Delta Stewardship Council before they voted to endorse the Delta Tunnels plan as part of their amendments to the Delta Plan at their June 22 meeting in Sacramento. They made the decision, with only one dissenting vote, in spite of a massive turnout and hours of testimony by tunnels opponents, including fishermen, conservationists, environmental justice advocates, family farmers, Delta residents and elected officials. For more information about th...

“DWR’s culture is bound by secrecy to protect its image and its very slanted focus, which is to maximize water exports to its contractors,” stated AquAlliance Executive Director Barbara Vlamis. “AquAlliance strongly believes that the public’s right to know is essential in a democracy and legally enforceable, something we are happy to take on.” Photo: Water releases from Lake Oroville going over the badly damaged spillway into the Feather River. Jerry Brown poses as 'climate leader' while he promotes fracking, Delta Tunnels
If Governor Jerry Brown really cared about climate change, green energy and the people of California and the planet, he would take a number of urgently-needed actions, rather than issue constant statements and proclamations about how "green" his administration is.
