Migrant Solidarity Prevails in Santa Cruz
A group of racists who organize through the website "Illegal Immigrant Protest dot com" called for an "Illegal Immigrant Protest Rally" at the Town Clock in Santa Cruz on July 22nd. Peace and social justice activists from across Santa Cruz County put out a call for solidarity with migrants and to confront and educate the out-of-town "anti-alien" group. About 30 activists showed up in solidarity with migrants and 3 "anti-alien" protesters came to Santa Cruz to scapegoat problems in our society...

Students Protest Maria Shriver
Just letting folks know that Watsonville students protested Maria Schriver's visit at the Watsonville Farmer's Market today (Friday, July 21, 2006). It was totally cut short and she only stayed for about 25 minutes as a result of the protest (left at 4:35pm).

You probably know that the Pentagon has been spying on anti-war groups.
Now it turns out that Homeland Security has been working hand in glove with the Pentagon—at least in California.
The ACLU of Northern California released two documents on July 18 that reveal Homeland Security as a source of information for the Pentagon on protests at the University of California Berkeley and UC Santa Cruz....
