Abul-Gheit:Abu Mazen to visit Cairo soon for continuing dialogue with Palestinian factions
Amidst positive indications that Mahmoud Abbas, the chairman of the Palestinian Authority has managed to contract differences with the Palestinian factions for concluding a conditional truce that could open the door before settlement process, the Palestinian Authority called on the Israeli government to return back to negotiations table to coordinate a joint declaration on mutual halt of violence between the two sides, in conformity with the roadmap peace plan....

The attempt to present Abu Mazen's actions as an achievement resulting from Israeli pressure has negative, possibly destructive implications for the entire process. Abu Mazen is not an Israeli collaborator, and should not be seen as such....

Palestine: Coordination is not negotiation
The Geneva Initiative group, of which I am a part, should not have made the short journey to the Muqata compound in Ramallah earlier this week and become the first Israeli delegation to meet with the newly elected Palestinian leader. Not because it was the wrong thing to do. Quite the opposite: It was precisely the right thing to do, but it should have been the Israeli government that made the journey....

What "Peace" Really Means to Israelis
Two months ago I returned from a two-week family visit to Israel. Although I am an activist for Palestinian rights, I decided that this visit would be entirely private. Living for two weeks with my brother, his wife and their two little girls in their tiny apartment in a North Tel-Aviv suburb, gave me an opportunity to observe and see what daily life is like for Israelis at the moment....
