The Sea Shepherd continues to follow the Japanese whaling fleet. Following the collision of the Nisshin Maru and Arctic Sunrise on January 8, the Japanese factory ship fled the scene at high speed. Whaling has recommenced on January 11,with Greenpeace activists disrupting the hunt. The Nisshin Maru whaling factory ship has stopped and the hunters are out hunting in the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary. Elephant Seals Mate and Relax at Año Nuevo
A large colony of northern elephant seals are currently mating and taking life easy at Año Nuevo State Reserve. The Reserve is located off Highway 1, between the cities of Santa Cruz and Half Moon Bay, on a beautiful stretch of the southern San Mateo County coastline. On January 4, 2006, I took a guided tour of the Wildlife Protection Area of the Reserve and saw lots of cute elephant seal pups and their parents....

In spite of continuous national public outcry calling for Montana to cancel its controversial bison hunt, the state's zero-tolerance policy against the country's last wild bison continues. Japanese Whaling Supply ship sideswiped and chased by Sea Shepherd
In the latest drama between whalers and conservationists, the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society ship, the Farley Mowat, has ordered the whaling supply ship, Oriental Bluebird, to leave the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary. When they refused to comply, the Farley Mowat slammed their starboard hull against the starboard hull of the Oriental Bluebird. The Farley Mowat is persuing the supply ship out of the whale sanctuary....

MUNI 3rd Street Lightrail Going Nowhere - stops at Visitation Valley
Over $650 million has been spent on MUNI 3rd Street Lightrail and it is going no where. Check it out it stops at Visitation Valley when it could have gone further to Ocean Beach and served a better purpose. Then we have two bridges under construction that should have been in place two years ago. One at Marin Street closer to Cargo Street and the other at 4th and King. Japanese Whaling Ship rams Greenpeace vessel
After three days of obstructing the whale hunt by placing inflatable zodiacs between whales and the harpoon, the Nisshin Maru rammed the Greenpeace ship, Arctic Sunrise. The whalers are counter claiming their ship was rammed by Greenpeace. The collision ocurred in the Australian Antarctic Territory in the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary. The Nisshin Maru has continued north at full speed, with the three conservationists ships in pursuit....
