Mad Max in Borderland -- Overnight With the Minutemen
Since 9.11, individuals calling themselves "Minutemen" have formed loosely structured volunteer associations that patrol the Southern U.S. border and have been vilified as racist vigilantes for their armed actions against undocumented immigrants. After camping out with the Minutemen of Campo, Calif., Russell Morse discovers the unexpected, even conflicting, reasons these men spend their lives in the desert. Morse, Furtado and Rojas are editors at YO! Youth Outlook Multimedia a Proje...

Anger Greets Colin Powell as Protesters Are Evicted in Santa Barbara
Angry throngs bedecked in a dazzling array of costumes, sporting signs and guerrilla theatre regalia opposed Colin Powell on his self-serving speaking engagement where he waxed profound on general themes of leadership and barely mentioned his role in the lead up to the bloody Iraq war. Protesters were forcibly evicted by a coterie of muscle men as apparent supporters of the alleged war criminal chided them and the venue manager refused to refund the $50 ticket price....

Doug Slaydon Comes Out Swinging
In a letter sent out to the Department of Labor Office of Labor Management Services (OLMS) Doug details the Loveall Leaderships many business ventures taken on while they are raking down big bucks to represent us.
We found it a bit strange that during the ’04 BAC contract campaign that Jacques was producing four films with his company Dream Reel films.
The letter to the DOL follows and it probably wouldn’t hurt if we followed up with copies on our o...

CA Medical Board ignores executioner docs: "We don't get involved in ethical violations".
When the physicans who aided and abetted torture of human beings in Abu Gharaib, "Gitmo", or wherever come to California after military service, will the Board allow ex-torturers to start caring for patients? Hey - Alberto Gonzales tells us it's all legal - no criminal activity here.
So if you call the medical board (1-800-633-2322), maybe they can explain to you - if executioners can be doctors, why not torturers? Why not cannibals?
Heck, it's just that pesky ethical stuff - ...

Cheney, "A Beer or Two," and A Gun
Vice President Dick Cheney, who was forced to leave Yale University because his penchant for late-night beer drinking exceeded his devotion to his studies, and who is one of the small number of Americans who can count two drunk driving busts on his driving record, may have been doing more than hunting quail on the day that he shot a Texas lawyer in the face....

DiFi and the Royal Democrats: The Curious Withdrawal of Cindy Sheehan
Last week, that noble antiwarrior, Cindy Sheehan, declined to challenge Senator Diane Feinstein in the upcoming Democratic primary. Ms Sheehan reiterated that Party officials had not pressured her against running. It reminded me of how the Party had so thoroughly squashed the stridently anti-war candidacy of Howard Dean in 2004, that every time the good doctor surfaces now to speak, he’s looking over his shoulder.
Feinstein should be challenged. Feinstein is one of the “Royal Democrats,"...

A select committee of the US House of Representatives is set to release a report Wednesday on the US government’s handling of Hurricane Katrina. From drafts leaked to various news publications this week, it is already clear that the report presents a picture of an extraordinary lack of preparation and a completely incompetent response, which contributed to the deaths of over 1,000 people and the virtual destruction of a major American city....
